MyLane is built to simplify your job search, not to track your life. We only collect data that is strictly necessary to save and sync your job applications.
Extension Permissions
In compliance with Chrome Web Store policies, here is why we request specific access:
tabs & activeTab
We use these to identify the job posting URL and page title. This allows us to "clip" the job details directly into your MyLane dashboard when you trigger the extension.
sidePanel
This allows MyLane to open as a persistent companion on the right side of your browser, making it easy to drag-and-drop job info without switching tabs.
scripting & Host Permissions
We use scripting on LinkedIn and MyLane.ai to inject our "Enricher" tools. This allows us to parse job descriptions automatically and show your application status directly on the LinkedIn interface.
Data Collection
We collect and process the following data:
- Authentication: Your email address and credentials (via MyLane.ai) to sync your saved jobs.
- Website Content: Specific job-related text (Company name, Role, Description) from LinkedIn when you choose to save a job.
- User Activity: Clicks within the extension interface to help us improve the tool's performance.
Our Commitment
"We do not sell user data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not track your browsing history outside of the job boards you explicitly use with MyLane."
